Food for the Poor (Guyana) recently handed over a quantity of beds to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) to fill an ongoing need at the institution.
Handing over the 18 medical beds with frames at the Food for the Poor complex in Festival City, Chief Executive Officer Kent Vincent said the organisation was pleased “to come to the assistance of the health sector once the more,” a media release said.
“We would normally make donations of assorted medical equipment, pharmaceuticals and over the counter medications, not only to the public hospitals, but also to health centres around the country,” he was quoted as saying.
Vincent mentioned that the beds were donated through Food for the Poor Florida and he was grateful to those would send help to Guyana.
GPHC Assistant Director of Nursing Services Noshella Lalc-
kecharan, received the beds on behalf of the GPHC and made mention of prior donations received from the Food for the Poor and expressed hope for its continued support.
