Transport Sports Club (TSC) defeated Bel Air Rubis by 174 runs to win their first match of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/Banks DIH Limited Malta Supreme Under-13 match on Saturday at the Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) ground.

TSC batted first and scored 318-7 from their allotted 25 overs while Rubis in reply, struggled against TSC’s bowlers, who restricted them to 144 at the end of their 25 overs.

Adrian Hinds was TSC’s principal scorer with 19 runs as Michael Pooran and Omari Lallbachan collected two wickets each.

Rubis’ batsmen Shivanan Gaskin (11), Alex Chunilall (11), Andrew Samaroo (10) and Michael Pooran (10) all got into double figures. However, it was the bowling of Jamal Michael who claimed four wickets that did the damage to Rubis’ batting.

Michael’s bowling effort was supported by Donald Singh, Devon Allen and Ronaldo Fredericks, who captured two wickets each.
