Alonzo Ambrose placed third in the 92km road race during last weekend’s Caribbean Junior Cycling championships in Suriname.

His podium finish ensured that Guyana’s six-member team returned home with a medal.

Guyana’s Michael Anthony and Stephano Husbands placed seventh and ninth respectively in the event which was won by Trinidad and Tobago’s Akil Campbell who also won the time trial event.

Aruba’s Jonathan Croes was second for the road race.
