Investigations are being conducted into the circumstances surrounding the death of farmer Clifton Clement, 52 years, of Hiawa Village, Central Rupununi, which occurred at about 0130h. today, police said.
Investigations, police said, so far have revealed that Clement was allegedly imbibing and was beaten by some men on October 01, 2014, in the vicinity of the Takutu Bridge, Lethem. He had been admitted to the Lethem Hospital and was subsequently discharged.
The police are awaiting the results of a PME as the investigations continue.
