Orville Hinds warmed up nicely for next week’s signature ‘Ride For Life’ five-stage road race by winning his fourth circuit event of the season yesterday at the National Park.
The 2012 National road race champion out pedaled a field of rival wheelsmen and carted off the spoils of the feature 35-lap event of the 10th annual Hand in Hand 11-race cycle programme.
Hinds rode a tactical but attacking race and emerged winner in a brisk one hour, 16 minutes and 35 seconds while pocketing two sprint prizes.
He led Team United’s Mario King and Guyana’s premier junior cyclist, Michael Anthony onto the podium.
Top veteran, Robin Persaud, Team Coco’s Stephano Husbands and Paul DeNobrega rounded out the top six rewarding positions.
Anthony and DeNobrega also took home two sprint prizes each, while one apiece went to Persaud and Albert Philander.
