The UG Wolves and the Yamaha Caribs played unbeaten in their respective games yesterday to leapfrog the Pepsi Hornets and clinched finals berths in the Golden Brook/WindJammer/Toney Sevens league which culminates on Saturday at the National Park.
After starting the day on four points apiece, the UG Wolves and the Caribs added eight points each while the Hornets outfit which won both matches and earned a maximum eight points last week was winless.
The Hornets who stood atop the points table heading into yesterday’s second round, lost both of their fixtures (7-14 vs UG Wolves and 0-7 VS GDF) and will have to settle at best for third on Saturday when they play the GDF ruggers in the third place game.
