Transport Sports Club (TSC) completed a good weekend after recording wins against Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) and Diplomats as action continued in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA)/Banks DIH Malta Supreme Under-13 tournament yesterday.
Yesterday, TSC won by 194 runs against Diplomats at the Young Men Christian Association (YMCA) ground. On Saturday TSC defeated Georgetown Cricket Club at Muslim Youth Organisation ground (MYO) by 268 runs.
Yesterday, TSC batted first and scored 328-9 in their 25 overs, with Adrian Hinds being the principal scorer with 39. Hinds received support from Devon Allen (11) and Joel Prostea (10).
In respond Diplomats reached 324 with 19 dismissals at the end of their 25 overs, with Anthony Kumar (19) and John Campbell (11) being the main contributor.
For TSC Ronaldo Fredricks claimed 5-8 to give his team a comfortable victory, as Jamal Michael and Riyad Latif claimed 3-22 and 2-8 respectively.
In total TSC made 418 but with nine dismissals their total was reduced by 90 runs while Diplomats made 324 but were hampered by 19 dismissals.
On Saturday, TSC defeated GCC by 268 runs. TSC batted first, scoring 312-4 in 25 overs while GCC responded with 264 with 22 dismissals.
Adrian Hinds scored 24 for TSC receiving support from Devon Allen (11). As Yohancy Angoy captured two wickets for GCC.
In reply, GCC made 264, with Rivaldo Phillips top scoring with eight.
The following are some of the playing conditions of the tournament; 1.The pitch shall be 21 yards in length. 2. The ball shall be 4¾ ounces (whenever possible). 3. Each Team shall comprise of 11 players. Players must be born on or after 1st June 2001. 4. Each game will consist of 1 innings per side with each innings being of 25 overs duration (may be reduced if time does not allow or for bad weather). 5. The batting side shall be divided into pairs, only 5 pairs shall bat. Each pair will bat for 5 overs. Pairs shall change after each 5-over block. 6. Batsmen shall have unlimited “lives” (dismissals) but each “life” (dismissal) shall result in 10 runs being deducted from the total. 7. Batsmen shall change ends after each dismissal except on the last ball of the over. 8. Each player on the fielding side MUST BOWL at least 2 overs, with the exception of the wicket-keeper who is not allowed to bowl. No bowler shall bowl more than 3 overs, except in the case where there has been an injury to a member of his team and he has been chosen to bowl an extra over by the captain of the batting side (please see regulation number 11 below). 9. Each team shall commence its innings with a score of two hundred (200) runs.
- The winning team shall be the side scoring the higher number of runs after deductions for dismissals (the fall of wickets) have been made. If scores are equal then the eleven players on each side shall each bowl one delivery from the bowler’s end at the stumps at the batting end. The team scoring the most hits shall be the winner.
Hits from no balls shall not count and the delivery shall not be re-bowled.
