National wicketkeeper Anthony Bramble scored two half centuries to spearhead Albion to wins over Port Mourant and Skeldon Community Centre in matches of the 2014 Carib Beer first division T20 competition.
In the first of three Zone C (Corentyne) rescheduled matches on Saturday, Albion defeated Port Mourant by 78 runs.
Bramble, opening the batting, seven fours and two sixes in his top score of 54 to lead Albion to 147 all out in 19.5 overs.
Port Mourant’s left arm spinner Bisham Deolall took 4-17 from 3.4 overs.
Port Mourant, in reply, failed to combat the all spin Albion attack, reaching 69 for 9 from their 20 overs. Off spinners Sharaz Ramcharran, Jonathan Foo and Veerapen Permaul took two wickets each.
Bramble was again to the fore in the team’s next match against Skeldon Community Center, hitting seven fours and four sixes in the top score of 82 not out.
Bramble and Berbice opening batsman Kandasammy Surujnarine put on 103 runs for the first wicket. He also added 78 runs with Jonathan Foo for the third wicket to lead Albion to 208 for 3 from 20 overs. Surujnarine made 24 and Foo 68 with five fours and four sixes.
In reply, Skeldon CC was bundled out for a meagre 82 in 13 overs in the face of an all spin Albion attack.
In the other match of the day, Guytrac Upper Corentyne off spinner Lakeram Latchman took 4 for 17 from 2 overs in Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets 95 for 7 made from their 12 allotted overs. His effort was in vain however, as his team could only respond with 65 for 6 in 12 overs.

At Area H: Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets beat Guytrac Upper Corentyne by 30 runs. In the match which was reduced to 12 overs-a-side due to the late arrival of the Upper Corentyne team, Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets chose to bat first and made 95 for 7 with former Guyana wicket keeper batsman Delbert Hicks 41 and former West Indies ODI player Royston Crandon 26, the main scorers. Lakeram Latchman took 4 for 17 and medium pacer Lakeram Roopchand 2 for 24. Guytrac Upper Corentyne replied with 65 for 6 in 12 overs. Keon Sinclair took 2 for eight
