Dear Editor,
The Private Sector has been sitting on its hands while the PPP/C has run roughshod over its businesses, and the people of Guyana, without regard.
There are two sections of society, the Government, and the Private Sector. The Government is in place to serve the Private Sector. When it ceases to do so, the Private Sector has to take steps address this deficiency.
The Private Sector is not like any citizen who must have government provide security for him. The Private Sector is a body politic, independent, and from which come all resources supplied to government. Its responsibility to the nation is ensure that the country is moving in the direction expected of it. More specifically, it ensures that Government performs as expected, and that the state does not depart from the tenets of its democratic existence.
The Private Sector is the Watchdog, Guardian and Protector of itself and the people, from any and all threats, external, internal, and especially, abuse by Government.
I have stated publicly before and wish to reiterate again, that Guyana is beset by a tyrant. It is time the Private Sector recognize this and accept its responsibility of protecting the country from such individuals, and the current government.
Yours faithfully,
Craig Sylvester
