The Georgetown Cricket Association in collaboration with its sponsors will be hosting sixteen weekend matches at several venues in the city.
These matches comprise two first division, eight second division and six under-13 games.
In the Hadi’s World Inc first division two-day tournament, the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) will host the Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO) who suffered a humiliating defeat on day one last weekend to the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) while Police Sports Club will visit Everest Cricket Club. Both matches are scheduled to start at 9.30am on Saturday.
Arch rivals DCC and Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) are set to do battle on the opening day of the New Building Society 40 overs second division competition. That Zone ‘B’ match along with all other matches are set to start at 10.30am on Saturday.
The other matches set for Saturday are the Zone ‘A’, GCC vs Transport Sports Club (TSC) at Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) ground, Ace Warriors vs Everest at Guyana National Industrial and Commerce (GNIC) ground and Police versus GNIC at Eve Leary. While in Zone ‘B’ the University of Guyana will face Sophia at Turkeyen.
On Sunday, GNIC will tackle Ace Warriors at GNIC in the lone Zone ‘A’ match while in Zone ‘B’ UG will face MYO at MYO and Sophia will come up against the Diplomats at Turkeyen.
Meanwhile, in the Banks Malta Supreme Under-13 Cricket Competition, MSC will face DCC at the Young Men Christian Association (YMCA) ground from 9.30am while Everest will take on the GCC from 1.30 pm at the same venue.
The following day, the morning matches will feature TSC against DCC at YMCA and GYO versus Everest at MSC while the afternoon matches are the Diplomats versus GCC at YMCA and Bel Air Rubis versus MSC at MSC.
