Sanjay’s Jewellery is teeing-off its Classic Golf Tournament this Sunday at the Lusignan Golf Course (LGC).
According to a press release, the tournament will be used to keep hopefuls intact for the 36-hole round Guyana Open Golf Tournament which is set for November 1 and 2. Proprietor Sanjay Persaud said the competition should provide some fascinating play and to keep participants on their toes he is putting up three souvenir gold golf clubs for prizes, along with the usual activities he does for the tournaments.
Meanwhile, LGC President David Mohamad said the club appreciates the support from Sanjay’s Jewellery. “We would certainly be delighted if other sponsors – individual or corporate – would support the sport in a similar way,” he said.
According to Mohamad, the ground is in great shape and golfers will find the outfield well cut. He was also pleased that the Sanjay’s Jewellery tournament follows soon after Saturday’s competition as golfers will be in prime condition for the Guyana Open tourney. This two-day tournament usually attracts players from the Caribbean, Canada, the USA and further afield.
The tournament starts at 9.30am and the public is welcome to view the games.
