Linden Jackman, charged with robbing a young woman in a recent knife-point attack, was remanded to prison on Friday.
It is alleged that Jackman, 20, of 37 North Ruimveldt, along with another, armed with a knife, robbed Meenakshee Singh of a Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone, $4000 cash, a shoulder bag, an iPad 3 and documents, all valuing $304,000 in total, at Main Street, Georgetown.
Jackman pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him by city magistrate Judy Latchman.
Prosecutor Joel Ricknauth objected to bail based on the nature and prevalence of the offence and it was subsequently refused.
The matter was adjourn-ed to October 31.
