Two Camp Street Prison inmates yesterday found themselves back in court a lot sooner than expected when they were faced with separate charges of drug possession.
Murder accused Trevor Abrams, also known as ‘Rubber,’ of Friendship Canal, Lower Pomeroon, pleaded not guilty to the possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking charge that was read against him by Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry in Georgetown.
The charge stated that on October 15, he had in his possession 83 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking at the Camp Street Prison.
Abrams, 45, was among three persons charged in 2010 for the murder of Victor Williams at Friendship Canal.
Meanwhile, Brian Haywood, who is accused of the murder of his sister, was charged with having in his possession 63 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking on October 13 at the prison. He too pleaded not guilty to the charge.
No other details about the charges were given to the court and each man was again remanded to prison and ordered to report at Court 3 on October 28.
