Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) and Diplomats are the latest victors in the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCA)/Banks Supreme Malta Under-13 tourney.
On Sunday, DCC defeated Transport Sports Club (TSC) by 33 runs while Diplomats upset Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) by 11 runs at the Young Men Christian Association (YMCA) ground.
In the first match which commenced at 9:30a.m. TSC batted first and scored 241 losing 10 wickets in the process. In reply, DCC reached 274 when their 25 overs expired.
In TSC’s innings, Adrian Hinds top scored with 25 while Tony Adjoha and Devon Allen made 15 and 10 runs respectively. Daniel Mootoo of DCC claimed 3-30. Ravi Coates led DCC’s batting with 14.
In total TSC made 341 runs but 100 runs were subtracted due to their 10 dismissals while DCC made 314 runs with 40 runs being subtracted because they lost four wickets.
In the afternoon match, Diplomats got the better of GCC. GCC made 268-8 in their 25 overs as N. Anderson of Diplomats collected 2-16. Diplomats responded with 279-9 when their 25 overs expired, with Nicholas Williams (17) leading the way while Alfroes Zakar and Johnathan St. Hill scored 15 each. Yohance Angoy led GCC’s bowling with 2-21.
In total GCC made 348 but 80 runs were deducted due to the loss of eight wickets while Diplomats scored 369 with 90 runs being subtracted after nine wickets fell.
