A Mahaicony market jeweller was on Saturday robbed of an undisclosed quantity of jewellery and other valuables.
Ramharrack Salikram also known as ‘Bush”, a registered jeweller and the only one in Mahaicony for over 15 years, had just finished putting out his stall at the market to carry on his daily business, when three men pulled up in a white Toyota 212 car armed with a gun and masked.
The men approached Salikram and one placed a gun to his head while the other cleared the stand of everything including the jewellery, his cell phone, a bag containing money and equipment such as his scale.
The men then discharged shots after the robbery and made good their escape in the parked car.
Salikram later made a report at the Mahaicony police station and the police conducted a search but no one was found.
When Stabroek News spoke with Salikram yesterday he said there was no information as yet on the attackers.
