No overall winner as….

From Emmerson Campbell in Suriname

The 2014 Inter Guiana Games (IGG) is a wrap.

The hosts, Suriname, Guyana and French Guiana all shared the spoils in the second leg of the three-day XX event which concluded Sunday night at the Ismay Van Wilgen Sporthal.

Guyana won team championships for table tennis (male and female), cycling (male) and volleyball (male).

Suriname were victors in chess, badminton, cycling (female), volleyball (female) and football (female) while the French won at football (male).

The organisers have discarded the notion of naming an overall winner.

During the closing ceremony last night at the Ismay Van Wilgen Sporthal, Director of Sport, Neil Kumar praised the athletes that excelled in their disciplines. He also thanked the media for coverage and Suriname for hosting the event.
