Georgetown Education Officer dies

The Ministry of Education is mourning the passing of Georgetown Education Officer Seeram Bhairo.

In a press release, the ministry said Bhairo died on Saturday night after a brief illness.

Bhairo served as an educator for more than 40 years, the ministry noted. He started his career in 1973 at Lower Bonasika Primary, where he was appointed Senior Master in 1991. He also served as Headmaster at the Zeelugt Primary school and as District Education Officer for Region Three. He was serving as District Education Officer (Primary) for Georgetown at the time of his passing.

The ministry extended condolences to Bhairo’s relatives and friends and a wake in his memory was planned for the Ministry’s 68 Brickdam offices for yesterday.
