(Trinidad Express) Ramnaresh Sarwan has arrived in Trinidad and Tobago and will get a workout this weekend in T&T Cricket Board three-day practice match bowling off today at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva from 10 a.m.
New T&T coach Augustine “Gus” Logie confirmed that the stylish Guyanese right-hander arrived yesterday and would take part in his first practice match with the T&T franchise.
The coach and his players will be hoping for three days of sunshine more than anything else especially after the previous practice match were affected by rain.
However Logie still feels their preparations are going according to plan.
“At the moment we are on track in terms of our technical work,” said Logie.
“The guys have been coming into the net sessions and we have the players in a programme basically from Tuesday to Thursday.
The guys are looking forward to another three-day game this weekend and we have Sarwan with us also so that is a plus,” he added.
Speaking about the progress of T&T’s batting line-up which has been inconsistent in the past, the T&T coach said “all in all, all the top-order batsmen seem to be coming into some kind of form.”
“Evin (Lewis) has had two centuries so far. We have had a 90-odd from young Jeremy Solozano. We have also had a 50 from Jason Mohammed and (Steven) Katwaroo and (Nicholas) Pooran as well,” he explained.
