AFC MP Moses Nagamootoo is carded to move the motion of no-confidence against the PPP/C government on Monday.
The motion was listed in the Order Paper for Monday issued this afternoon by Parliament Office.
In an address to the nation last evening President Donald Ramotar had said that were the Alliance For Change (AFC) to proceed with the motion, which has been the centre of debate for months, he would move to either prorogue or dissolve Parliament. Either way, fresh elections will be called though the government now seems unprepared to fall to an opposition motion of no confidence.
The 33-page Order Paper plus appendices contains a range of other business which the government wants to proceed with. AFC Leader Khemraj Ramjattan had said that the party was prepared to flex on the timing of the motion in the interest of having some of the important matters speedily addressed. However, this mood might have soured with the threat last evening by Ramotar to bring the life of this Parliament to an end and move to General Elections.
Other matters on the agenda include the tabling of the report of the Auditor General for 2013. There are also 19 questions to be answered by ministers and reports from various committees.
