Dynamic Airways now awaits approval from Guyana to resume operations here, local partner Gerry Gouveia said on Tuesday.
Gouveia said that the airways has since submitted relevant documents to the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
The Dynamic Airways local partner added that the documents were submitted following a “strong” letter from the GCAA, which outlined the requirements to resume operations.
Meanwhile, GCAA’s Director General Zulfikar Mohamed told this newspaper that after reviewing the documents submitted by the airways, a recommendation will be made to Transport Minister Robeson Benn.
Last month, Dynamic Airways announced that the United States Department of Transportation (DOT) had lifted its suspension and granted approval for the carrier to operate to a variety of destinations in South America.
The airways had a troubled entry into the local market in June, after numerous problems beset its inaugural flight from the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri and its subsequent grounding at JFK International Airport in New York for a series of violations. As a result, it was forced to use alternative airports in Connecticut and New Jersey to transport passengers to Guyana. The DOT subsequently pulled Dynamic’s operations approval, giving it up to August 8th to get its business in order.
Meanwhile Gouveia also announced yesterday that Dutch airline Insel Air has now added an additional two flights here, taking its total to four. They will begin from December 18th. This, he said, will now give passengers routed to Miami more flying options.
