Expressions 2, the second in the new production series staged by GEMS Theatre Productions, is set for tomorrow evening at the Theatre Guild playhouse in Kingston.
A melting pot of theatre arts, Expressions offers patrons performances, poetry reading, singing and dancing. It draws from the works of Shakespeare, Paul Keens-Douglas, experimental theatre from the students of the National School of Theatre Arts, Martin Carter, Elly Niland, David Dabydeen, Ian McDonald, Janet Naidu, CEJ Ramcharitar-Lalla, Mahadai Das, Ruel Johnson, Cassia Alphonso, Lloyd Marshall, Kai Davis, William Blake, Chris Tse and Rudy Williams.
On stage will be actors: Sean Thompson, Mariatha Causway and Randolph Critchlow; poets: Petamber Persaud, Cassia Alphonso and Lloyd Marshall; readers: Vanda Radzik, Kit Nascimento and Scheherazade Khan along with Damian Fernandes doing one of Robert Fernandes’ poems from his first book of poetry.
Other performances will come from Ron Robinson, Derek Gomes, Rajan Tiwari, Mark Luke-Edwards, Nuriyyih Gerrard, Nicola Moonsammy, Sonia Yarde, Paul Budnah and Rajan Tiwari.
Art done by students of the Burrowes School of Art will enhance the foyer and will be on sale.
Tickets for the evening performance cost $1,000 and are available at Oasis Café and The Theatre Guild.
The event will start promptly at 18:00 hours.
