The police say that investigations are being conducted into a fatal accident that occurred at about 0150h today on the main road at Sparendaam, ECD, and which resulted in the death of Christopher Baichan, 19 years, of Oleander Gardens, ECD.
Investigations have revealed that Baichan was an occupant in a motor car that was allegedly being driven at a fast rate, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a fence.
Police say that Baichan suffered injuries and succumbed while receiving medical treatment.
The driver was tested and found to be above the legal limit in terms of the consumption of alcohol. He is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
