A Mahaicony man was placed on $125,000 bail by a city court yesterday after he pleaded not guilty to an assault charge yesterday.
Dwayne Alexander, of Lot 3 Recess, Mahaicony, appeared before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry charged with the alleged assault of James Thomas at the Cuyuni River on November 7.
The charge stated that on the day in question, Alexander assaulted Thomas, causing actual bodily harm.
He was placed on $125,000 bail and ordered to attend the Mabaruma Magistrate’s Court on November 17. He was also ordered to report to the Ekereku Police Station on Fridays every fortnight.
