Fourth positioned side Ann’s Grove, continued their giant killing run in the East Demerara Football Association (EDFA) senior league, defeating third placed unit Buxton United by a 2-0 margin on Friday at the Victoria Community Centre ground. Maxton Adams found the back of the net for the winners with a seventh minute strike. Gavin Wilson would then seal the all-important win compliments of a 26th-minute conversion.
In the opening fixture, Mahaica Determinators moved into the second spot of the league as they hammered cellar occupants Sparta united 4-0. Kirk Roberts led the way with a double in the 45th and 47th minutes while Azuma Roberts and Curtly Adams netted in the 33rd and 65th minutes respectively.
The action is set to continue today at the same venue with a double header. In the opening matchup at 16:00hrs, Buxton United will faceoff with Golden Stars while at 18:00hrs, home side and league leaders Victoria Kings will battle Mahaica Determinators in a top of the table showdown.
