A 35-year-old man of Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Bank Essequibo was yesterday sentenced to prison after he pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of marijuana.
Sitting at the Charity Magistrate’s Court, Magistrate Sunil Scarce heard that on November 15 at the Anna Regina Police Station, Darell Holder had in his possession a quantity of leaves, seeds and stems, suspected to be cannabis, which when weighed amounted to 4 grammes.
According to the police facts, Holder was involved in a fight at Affiance, Essequibo Coast and was taken to the Anna Regina Police Station where a search was conducted on him and the drugs was found.
The man who was not represented in court pleaded guilty to the charge read to him and he was sentenced to 3 months in prison.
