Two vendors were remanded to prison yesterday after they appeared at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
It was alleged that Randy Rampersaud, 26, a DVD vendor of 124 Middle Road, La Penitence and Leon Grant, 26, a clothes vendor of 168 BB Eccles being armed with a gun relieved Seon Sanmoogan of $20,000 on November 21 at Sheriff Street, Georgetown.
The men were also charged with conspiring to commit a robbery. Both charges were indictable and they were not required to plead.
Prosecutor Deniro Jones objected to bail citing the nature and gravity of the offence.
He also said that other charges are to be brought against them.
The prosecutor also said that Rampersaud was previously convicted for other matters. However Rampersaud denied this.
Magistrate Ann McLennan remanded the men to prison and the matter was transferred to Court 3 for November 28.
