(Jamaica Gleaner) The police are claiming a major breakthrough in the investigation of killings in St Catherine, after three men were charged, including one with eight counts of murder.
A police statement says on Friday, detectives charged Kemar Thompson otherwise called ‘Gatlin’ or ‘Spiderman’ for his role in the killing of four men in one incident and three in another. The murders for which Kemar Thompson is charged include the October 12 killing of four men attached to the China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), which is developing the North-South Highway.
Thirty-three-year-old Kirk Foote, 29-year-old Craig Harris otherwise called ‘Big Head’, 42-year-old Courtney Cobourne otherwise called ‘Sojee’, and 43-year-old Carlton Scott, were shot dead in a car on Bowers Wood Main Road in Bog Walk as they transported the payroll for men working on the Ferry to Linstead leg of the highway.
Thompson has also been charged with the October triple killing of 70-year-old Maltie Taylor otherwise called ‘Maltie Blake’ and ‘Shut’, 51-year-old Patrick Cummings, and 35-year-old Norman Nolan.
