Amalgamated Security Services (Guyana) Inc started training its first batch of officers, led by former Trinidad and Tobago Deputy Commissioner of Police Davis Douglas.
Douglas has 38 years of experience in the Trinidadian Police Service, followed by 10 years in Amalgamated, the company said in a press release. He is assisted by Cortland Gordon who spent 36 years in the Guyana Police Force.
Training started on Monday with 21 persons comprising seven women and 14 men who hail from as far afield as Linden and East Berbice. Most of them have prior experience in the military or para-military organisations. They have already completed preliminary academic testing, passed an initial interview, and have also passed their mandatory drug test. They must now successfully complete three weeks of training, pass their interim and final exams and a management interview before gaining employment with the company.
Amalgamated Security Services (Guyana) Inc is part of a larger family of companies that is headquartered in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago; there are operations in Grenada, St Lucia and Barbados.
