The Ministry of Education last evening said that Georgetown schools will remain closed today because of severe flooding and some schools in other parts of the country will also be shuttered.
In a notice, the Ministry said it wished to advise the public that all public schools in Georgetown will remain closed on Friday, November 21, 2014 to facilitate the sanitization of the facilities.
Meanwhile, schools in Regions 2, 3, and 5 with the exception of the Bygeval Secondary school will be reopened.
Parents and guardians of Region 4 (East Bank and East Coast) are asked to note that most schools will be reopened today, with the exception of the following:
Clonbrook primary
Clonbrook nursery
Enmore Primary
Gandhi Memorial Nursery
Providence Primary
Chateau Margot Primary
Chateau Margot nursery
Ann’s Grove Primary
Ann’s Grove Nursery
Unity Nursery
Yesterday, all schools in Georgetown and in regions 2, 3 and 4 were closed because of the flooding which rose quickly after heavy rain.
