The hydrometeorological office today issued an advisory projecting heavy rain tomorrow. The coastal areas and Georgetown have been hit by heavy flooding following rains which began on Wednesday night.

Cloudy to overcast skies can be expected to prevail throughout Coastal to Inland Areas. These conditions are likely to be accompanied by light to moderate showers and isolated thundershowers. It is expected that rainfall would decrease as the day progresses but the overcast conditions will remain. The twelve hour Rainfall is forecasted to be between 20 mm and 40 mm. Other locations can expect partly cloudy skies with a few passing showers and possible thundershowers during the afternoon hours. Rainfall is likely to range between trace and 15 mm.

Day is expected to break with overcast conditions over Coastal to Inland areas. These conditions are expected to be accompanied by moderate to heavy showers, intermittent rain and thundershowers. It is expected that less precipitation will be experienced during the afternoon hours. However, cloudy to overcast conditions are expected to continue into the evening. Rainfall is likely to return during the late evening. The 24 hours accumulation is expected to be between 80 mm and 100 mm. Inland locations can expect partly cloudy to fair conditions during the morning and cloudy conditions with showers and possible thundershowers during the afternoon hours. Rainfall is likely to be between trace and 15 mm.
