Berbice Bridge reopened to vehicular traffic after temporary fix

The driver of this truck got fed up waiting in the line for the Berbice Bridge to reopen on Saturday night and opted to turn around. However, the poorly lit road proved difficult for him to manoeuvre and he ended up in the ditch. The bridge had failed to close around 5 pm following a scheduled opening.

Following a malfunction of the Berbice Bridge on Friday evening which left countless persons stranded, a temporary fix is in place with a full recovery expected within a few days.
