Keon Kelvin, who was recently jailed for four years for armed robbery, was on Friday sentenced to a total of six years after copping to two weapons charges.
Kelvin, 25, of Agricola, East Bank Demerara, who was found guilty of robbing a woman at gun-point after trailing her from a city bank, on Friday pleaded guilty to unrelated charges of unlawful possession of a gun and unlawful possession of ammunition.
He admitted that on February 11, he had in his possession a 9mm pistol without being the holder of a firearm licence. He also admitted that he had five matching rounds of ammunition in his possession.
He had initially pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to him. He changed his pleas yesterday.
Kelvin pleaded with the court to grant him another chance so he could repent for his mistakes. Magistrate Ann McLennan subsequently imposed two three-year sentences that will be served concurrently with the present four year sentence he is currently serving.
