A man was sentenced to three months in prison yesterday after he was found guilty of punching his wife in the eye when she told him she was moving out of their home.
The allegation against Safraz Ganni is that on November 23, he assaulted Paulette Simon, a social worker, in their home at 499, ‘A’ Field, South Sophia. The man was also charged with threatening behaviour. He pleaded not guilty to the charges when he was arraigned at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court.
When Magistrate Alex Moore asked Simon about the incident,
