A Kwakwani youth was remanded to prison after he was slapped with two theft charges yesterday.
Leroy Seaford, 18, was not required to enter a plea to the indictable charges read to him by Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Seaford was accused of stealing $100,000, belonging to Kassie Daley, on November 24, at Third Phase, Kwakwani.
Seaford was also charged with breaking and entering the building of the Natural Resource Organisation and stealing a laptop, valued $80,000, at the Kwakwani Airstrip on November 19.
Prosecutor Adunni Inniss objected to Seaford being granted bail based on the nature and gravity of the offence. She also told the court that the computer was recovered at his home.
As a result, Seaford was refused bail and the case was transferred to the Kwakwani Magistrate’s Court for December 19.
