Dynamic Airways last night hit another snag when its plane became stuck in the mud at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri as it was preparing to leave Guyana for New York.
Passengers had to disembark the plane and the flight was delayed until 1:45pm today when it eventually left.
“The aircraft left the terminal building and began taxiing and just as it was about to make the turn the right wheel came off the tarmac and went into the grass and was stuck,” local partner Gerry Gouveia told Stabroek News today.
He said that his staff’s satisfaction at what would have been an on-time flight was shattered.
“We were so happy that we were moving this craft on time for the first time and as we watched suddenly the wheel was in the grass, when it got there he (the pilot) had to shut the engine off and we just could not believe it,” Gouveia said.
The Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) was notified and investigations are ongoing.
