Dear Editor,
Quite reasonably, the opposition has called for a probe into the jet with a Guyanese copilot which had a substantial amount of undeclared cash on board when it was bound for Guyana. This is the same outfit it appears that was allowed to construct facilities at Timehri.
We have the report of the Ombudsman dealing with the NBS episode, but who will be brought to ‘book’ and by whom? After all this is Guyana.
Our police seem impotent or unwilling to deal with certain unlawful acts committed by certain folks – accidents, fraud, torture, etc.
Now we hear that the Ministry of Local Government is to conduct an investigation into the flooding of Albouystown. Bravo!
In all of the above and others will the persons ‘selected’ to examine these matters be persons of rectitude? Our experience so far suggests more cover ups.
Yours faithfully,
Hamilton Green
