New Amsterdam businessman Charles Bristol Henry, accused of fatally shooting another man during a dispute over property, was yesterday committed to stand trial for murder in the High Court.
Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus, at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court, committed Henry to stand trial at the conclusion of the preliminary inquiry into the murder charge against him.
It was alleged that on April 16, 2014, Henry murdered Errol Lindo at Angoy’s Avenue, New Amsterdam. Lindo, 52, called ‘Sono’ and ‘Son-Son’ was shot three times at his residence, allegedly by Henry. They had been involved in a dispute over land and the matter was in court. During the preliminary inquiry, nine persons testified; five police officers and four civilians. The case was prosecuted by police sergeant Godfrey Playter, while Henry was represented by attorneys Mortimer Coddett and Horatio Edmonson.
