Dear Editor,
After reading the Guyana newspapers for nearly 15 years I have come to the conclusion that Guyanese politicians, businesspeople and union leaders are lazy. They are lazy because they are not attracting investment, or doing what it takes to attract investment, into Guyana. They are just collecting their dues.
To attract investment into Guyana thus creating job opportunities, political stability, social stability and economic stability are needed. Guyana is relatively stable economically and socially. It is politically unstable at the moment. What we have is the proroguing of Parliament by the government and a no-confidence motion being proposed by the opposition. Such childish antics are not likely to attract investment into Guyana, but just create a climate of political instability and uncertainty.
What is needed is for these so-called leaders to get up and travel abroad to attract investment into the country. It is not just the government that needs to attract investment. Everyone should do their part to lift Guyanese out of poverty.
Yours faithfully,
Sean McLeana
