An elderly man was placed on $20,000 bail yesterday after he denied threatening four men.
Ganga Krishna, 70, of 11 North Road, Bourda, was read four charges of threatening language when he appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennan in Georgetown.
It is alleged that on November 25, at King Street, Krishna, who is a welder, threatened Andrew Gilbert, Nateram Jaichand, John Pinandie and Naresh Singh.
Prosecutor Deniro Jones said that the men were contracted to construct a building at Robb and King Streets and they were working on it when Krishna came and began using a series of expletives towards them.
Jones did not object to bail but argued that it should be set at a substantial amount to ensure Krishna returns for trial.
He was then granted $20,000 bail and placed on a bond to keep the peace until the completion of his trial. He was also ordered to keep away from the property on Robb and King Streets.
The case was transferred to Court 10 and will be called again on January 15.
