Dear Editor,
My friend Gordon Forte, invoking the lyrics and the spirit of ‘Man of La Mancha,’ displays his roots in ideas that are irrelevant in today’s Guyana. Exploitation has always been the nature of government all over the world. We Guyanese can’t escape knowing we are prey for money and sex to the minority in power.
The question is, do we start resisting, and how? Can we hope that the next lot to represent us will be less vulgar predators? And will we express that hope by the way we vote in the next elections, if and when we have them?
Let’s be real to today’s Guyana, not be distracted by outmoded ideals.
Yours faithfully,
Angie Rado
