Western Tigers got their Georgetown Football Association (GFA)/Banks Beer Cup campaign off to the perfect start, mauling Houston Stars 5-0 in their group matchup on Sunday at the Tucville Community Centre ground.
Joshua Britton broke the early deadlock as he found the back of the net through a 26th-minute attempt. Lorenzo Dewsbury would then make it 2-0 as he etched his name on the score sheet in the 48th minute.
The lead would continue to balloon for the West Ruimveldt-based side as Stellon David netted through a 63rd minute strike. Marvin Joseph would then make his presence felt for the winners, lashing his strike to the back of the net in the 82nd minute.
The result would then be completed as Joseph sealed his second half brace with a 90th+2 attempt to the back of goal. In the second matchup of the night, home side Fruta Conquerors were held to a disappointing scoreless draw by Bourda-based unit Georgetown Football Club (GFC).
