An Albouystown teen was yesterday remanded to prison on an armed robbery charge.
Earl De Souza, 19, of 178 Thomas Street, Albouystown, denied that on December 5th, at La Penitence, together with another and armed with a gun, he robbed Jasper Carter of a quantity of gold jewellery, amounting to a total value of $215,000.
Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones told Magistrate Ann McLennan the jewellery was not recovered and objected to bail based on the nature and gravity of the charge and the penalty it attracts. Bail was denied and the case was adjourned until January 6, when it will be called at Georgetown Magistrates’ Court 5.
