“My worship is first time I do something like this, please give me a chance,” were the words of Wazim Khan on Monday before Magistrate Ann McLennan sentenced him for stealing almost $2 million in valuables during a break and enter and larceny.
Khan, a labourer, of Hill Foot, Soesdyke Highway, East Bank Demerara, pleaded guilty to the charge that was read to him at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts. The court heard that on December 3, at Eccles, East Bank Demerara, he broke and entered the dwelling house of Aleem Khan and stole a quantity of gold and diamond jewellery along with $20,000.
