Julius Chapman, the snow cone vendor whose cart was pushed down by retired magistrate Gordon Gilhuys says the police are having a hard time getting witnesses to go on record.
Chapman told Stabroek News that witnesses are not coming forward to talk about how his snow cone cart was damaged.
In the meantime, he is finding life difficult since his livelihood was destroyed. The man said he has to be living from “hand to mouth” since the confrontation and finding food for his six children and pregnant wife is taking a toll on him.
A Division Commander Clifton Hicken said the police are still investigating.
Gilhuys had pushed Chapman’s cart down on Monday during an altercation.
