Ryan McKinnon continues to hit the target, completing his second win in as many competitions to finish at the helm of the stand division of the Guyana National Rifle Association (GNRA) yearend practical pistol shooting while national small-bore captain Dale Hing won the production divisions on Sunday at the Timehri ranges.
McKinnon and Hing both won two out of three stages in their categories. McKinnon was victorious in the first stage of the standard division, finishing ahead of second position Gordon Richards while Murtland Smith finished third. In the second stage, McKinnon was beaten into second position by winner Joshua Ramlakhan while David Dharry came in third. The decisive stage was tough but the eventual champion rebounded to take it in grand style.
This was McKinnon’s second successive victory as he emerged champion of the Guyana Sport Shooting Federation GSSF) steel challenge shooting the previous weekend.
In similar fashion, Hing won his first stage in the production category while surrendering the second before returning to win the final bout which proved critical for the shooter.
The overall standings were: production – Hing first place, Beharry second and Sarjoo third while in the standard; Mc Kinnon placed first, Dharry second and Richards – third.
The programme consisted of three stages which were categorised into standard and production divisions. Shooters with stock firearms with no modifications shot under the production division while shooters with modified firearms were placed in the standard division according to the IPSC rules.
