A young teacher was yesterday released on $15,000 bail after she denied wounding her common-law husband.
It was alleged that Tricia Eastern, on November 30, at South Ruimveldt, unlawfully and maliciously wounded Kellon Ferreira.
Magistrate Ann McLennan releasedEastern on $15,000 bail and also placed her on a bond to keep the peace until the completion of her trial.
After Eastern was told of the court’s decision, she asked the magistrate’s permission to address the court.
“I don’t understand how the system works but he gave statements which are all false, just to put me in trouble,” she said, while denying the charge against her.
She, was, however advised to return to court on December 16, at Court 11, where she will be given a chance to speak during the trial.
