The family of Seema Poloram, who has been missing for 11 days, is still seeking the public’s help to locate her.
Poloram, 14, also known as “Usha,” of Lot ‘E’ De Willem, West Coast Demerara, has not been heard from since December 3, according to her family.
“I just want her to come home,” Poloram’s overwhelmed grandmother, Parbatty Poloram, who is her guardian, told Stabroek News yesterday.

She mentioned that word reaching the family was that teen had been in Berbice with a male, allegedly headed on the way to Suriname. However, the grandmother said that she had never seen Seema with a boyfriend or ever heard her mention anything about having one.
The girl’s aunt, Marilyn Poloram, had told this newspaper that the Uitvlugt Secondary School student, after bidding her 70-year-old grandmother goodbye, left home for school at about 8am on December 3. The girl was last seen by friends at school during the morning hours, although no one could say when she vanished.
The aunt had also stated that the teenager had never left home without informing anyone, nor did she have any problems with the family. A missing person’s report was made at the Leonora Police Station on December 4.
The girl was last seen wearing a blue dress and white shirt, with a blue tie. Anyone with information that can lead to her whereabouts is asked to call 216-1885, 277-0464 or contact the nearest police station.
