At about 0945h yesterday, the police say that Jamal Letlow, 20 years, of Industrial Site, Ruimveldt, Georgetown, was in a mini-bus when he requested to get off at High Street, George-town. While exiting the vehicle he snatched a gold chain from a female passenger in the mini-bus.
Police say that an alarm was raised and ranks of a City Constabulary Patrol that was in the vicinity responded and gave chase. The police say that Letlow was confronted by one of the ranks “whom he attacked with a knife, despite being called upon to desist, and was shot to his buttocks”.
He has been admitted to the GPHC under guard as the investigations continue.
