Wakenaam farmer remanded on drug charges

Wakenaam farmer John Duncan was on Monday remanded to prison after he was arraigned in a Georgetown court on two drug charges.

It is alleged that on December 13, at Wakenaam, Duncan, 50, had 154 grammes of cannabis in his possession. It is also alleged that on the same day he had 8 grammes of narcotics. This was not further explained in court.

Duncan pleaded not guilty to the charges after they were read by Magistrate Ann McLennan.

His matter was transferred to the Wakenaam Magistrate’s Court for a hearing on December 24.
