A man was on Tuesday accused of tendering a forged NIS certificate to the Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI) in a bid.
It is alleged that Keith Profitt on April 16, 2014 uttered to GWI, by way of a bid, a National Insurance Scheme (NIS) compliance certificate #se/06/314 in favour of himself, purporting to show the same was issued by the NIS and knowing the same to be false.
Profitt pleaded not guilty to the charge after it was read to him by Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court Two. He was granted $100,000 bail and the matter was adjourned to January 8, 2015.
